Viridescent has been awarded a slot in a BPA for vegetation management in Bienville, Chickasawhay, De Soto, Delta, Holly Springs/Tombigbee, and Homochitto areas of Mississippi from 2023 to 2028. This contract will include calls for planting, invasive plant species treatment, midstory reduction, hazardous tree felling, forestry precommercial thinning, trail maintenance cutting and clearing, mulching and mechanical treatments, fireline construction and maintenance, cutting and maintenance of wildlife openings, and southern pine beetle treatment clearing to promote growth of preferred species, control invasive plant and insect species to prevent spread and detriment to ecosystems, and to manage development within timberlands.

Viridescent Contracting has been awarded a spot in a 5 year forestry collection IDIQ to include 9 NW region states. This includes scion, cone, and pollen collection: from live trees climbed, felled trees, using aerial lifts, and ladders; installation/removal of cages to protect material through the season, and crown management.
Viridescent Contracting has been awarded a spot in a 5 year BPA for forestry fuels reduction by various methods. This will include all states and South Pacific island territories.
The USACE contracts for elk winter forage planting seek to plant and protect various species of native shrubs and trees with the goal of providing winter browse for conservation of elk within the area. Viridescent Contracting has fulfilled an initial contract to build exclosures and plant various species for elk forage, and holds a 5 year contract from 2023 to 2028 for continued conservation planting.
Viridescent Contracting performed thinning of conifer species from seedling starter trays within Bessey forestry nursery near Halsey, NE. This required removal of all but one seedling from each of 112 cells in starter styro-blocks. There were 17,700 trays with roughly 6 million seedlings to be removed. This required use of a 30-person crew with several additional management and Quality Control/Assurance staff to complete.
Viridescent Contracting performed woody storm debris cleanup and removal at Trempealeau wildlife refuge in Trempealeau, WI. This included removal of all downed woody debris along approximately 7 miles of road within the refuge, 35 ft. out from the center of the road on both sides, and removal of 10 standing hazardous trees near the refuge office. This amounted to approximately 3,000 cu. yds. of woody debris and required traffic control and closures of areas dynamically during tree felling as the site remained open to the public.
Viridescent performed spring collection of scions from wild adult ponderosa pine trees to be grafted for orchard production of seed from diversified genetics and with preferable growth habits to improve forestry growth rates. Sugar Pine cones within seed orchard plots were also protected with linen bags to thereafter be collected in fall for seedling production and planting. This contract required coordinated climbing teams and rigorous collection methods to ensure viability of both the scion and seed collected.
Viridescent has performed three contracts of significant scale and has additional experience in road repair, striping, and traffic control services: The Black Canyon of the Gunnison project required sealing repair of over 10 miles of active park roadways, lots, campgrounds, and pullouts; The Mandan , ND USDA asphalt repair project required sealing and striping of roads and parking areas; and the USGS Seismology testing project in Volcanoes Natl. Park, HI, as well as the previous two, required vehicular and pedestrian traffic control engineered and implemented by Viridescent Contracting
USGS contracted Viridescent for the removal of a ladder extending up the retention silo and a connecting section leading down from the bridge edge to the platform, used to access measurement instruments housed in the top of the silo. The old ladder was nearly 100 years old and had no safety exclusion system to prevent public access. The replacement was to meet new code and exclude replacement of the ladder section from the bridge to the platform. All waste and demo materials were recycled locally, and no disturbances was made to riparian or other ecosystems.

This phase includes engineering, scheduling, logistics planning and preliminary meetings. during this period we set the foundation for a successful outcome for both the client and Viridescent.

This phase includes site cleanup, systems training, final inspections, and close-out coordination. After completion, we have a final walkthrough to ensure your complete satisfaction. We provide warranties as applicable with all work.
